Rebecca J. Benson is Counsel to Margolis & Bloom, LLP. Since 1991, her practice has focused on guardianship and conservatorship, estate planning, long-term care planning, planning for beneficiaries with special needs, and advocating for nursing home and assisted living residents.
Rebecca chairs the Long-Term Residents’ Rights Committee of the Massachusetts Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and serves on the SJC’s Mental Health Legal Advisors Committee. She has served as co-chair of the Elder and Disability Law Section of the Boston Bar Association and has taught at the University of Massachusetts Boston’s Gerontology Institute. She speaks on elder law and disability planning for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, Harvard Medical School, and other audiences and is the author of several works on elder and disability law.
Rebecca is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Academy of Special Needs Planners, the Massachusetts Guardianship Association, and the Massachusetts Bar Association. She received her law degree cum laude from Harvard Law School and her B.A. summa cum laude and M.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.
